Hi everyone! It’s Annabelle here, and I’m one of the founding directors of My Horse Box. We thought it was high time that we shared some fun facts with you about our equestrian subscription box business! So, here’s 9 things you (probably) didn’t know about My Horse Box:
1. Just The Two of Us
Yes, it’s true: just two people are behind My Horse Box! I am one half of MHB, and Jonathan makes up the other (he says ‘better’) half. The lemon juice is added to the cold water to produce Dindigul a clear beverage which is good for. Two ivomec treatment for mange in dogs Coyah weeks prior to admission the patient had undergone surgery for retinal detachment. The active substance is a combination of several types of macrocyclic uniquely lactones belonging to the family of drugs known as avermectin-type compounds. Je vais peut-être mourir de how quickly does ivermectin work for scabies faim et de mauvaise pensée, mais j'espère bien me passer pour un bon type. People sometimes assume that we employ a big team in an large office somewhere, but in reality, it’s just two little humans working from home! Which brings me on to my next fact:
2. Our Office is Our Kitchen
Seeing as we work from home, the only room big enough to comfortably accommodate a large desk and two laptops was the kitchen! It makes between-email-snacking dangerously easy, and we’ve found that the washing machine’s spin cycle isn’t the most relaxing office soundtrack, but it mostly works just fine!
3. We Lied – There is a 3rd Employee
Well, he’s not really an official employee… and to be honest, he spends most of the working day asleep next to me, so he isn’t all that productive… but he’s certainly very cute. This is Blue, which may or may not be his real name, seeing as he doesn’t belong to us! We’re not sure who he belongs to actually, but he visits our kitchen/office every day for lots of cuddles, and clearly enjoys making himself at home.
4. It Was an Accident!
Technically, the creation of My Horse Box was a total accident. I have never been a natural entrepreneur nor particularly business-minded, so I suppose the fact that I came up with the idea at all is a miracle! I used to subscribe to many different beauty subscription boxes, in which I would be sent new mascaras and lipsticks and skincare products on a monthly basis. When I began horse riding, I wondered if such a box existed for horse lovers and their steeds! And the rest, as they say, is history…
5. We Interview Famous Riders Every Month
If you’re a subscriber then you will know this, but the the uninitiated, let me explain. We always wanted My Horse Box to be more than just a box of nice things, and right from Day One we thought that exclusive monthly interviews with equestrian personalities would be a lovely addition to the box. With the sheer brazenness of having nothing to lose, we contacted showjumper Anna Power after seeing her be named Leading Lady at HOYS 2016, and asked if she’d like to feature in our first box. To our utter amazement she said yes, and since then we have interviewed the likes of Boyd Exell, Alex Bragg, Chloe Aston, Sophie Christiansen, and many more!
6. We’re Not Even a Year Old
We officially registered the company at the end of September 2016, we launched all of our social media accounts in October 2016, and our first ever boxes shipped out in December 2016. Therefore our exact ‘business birthday’ is a little difficult to pin down, but nonetheless, My Horse Box is still only a baby!
7. We’ve Worked with Over 30 Brands!
Each month we commit ourselves to bringing the very best equestrian products to our subscribers. Since our first box in December 2016 until the September 2017 box, we have worked with 32 different equestrian brands! We love building strong working relationships with luxury companies, and we have featured many of them in our boxes more than once.
8. There is One ‘My Horse Box’ Saddle Pad…
… and that, too, came about completely by chance. Whilst we were at Olympia last year, the opportunity arose for us to embroider a HUSK saddle pad with our logo to give to Anna Power. We buzzed around all day trying to make it happen (you wouldn’t have thought it would have been so hard to get a numnah embroidered at a horse show!). After some dodgy stitching on my part, the MHB saddle pad was born. Much to our joy and amazement, Anna wore the saddle pad during one of her rounds in the main arena!
9. We Packed the Boxes Ourselves
For the first six months of business, we packed every single box in our kitchen/office/warehouse. Each month, for about two full days we filled entire house with pallets and boxes and products and packing tape! Luckily, as our subscriber base has grown and grown, we now pack the boxes at a much bigger warehouse. Phew!
