Welcome to another Outside The Box post! Outside The Box is our blogging series where we write about anything and everything except our equestrian subscription boxes. We review the best products that the equestrian world has to offer, whether that’s clothing, accessories, or horse gear.
This time, I’m looking at a rather lovely show shirt from Stay Superior Equestrian.
The White Sleeveless Show Shirt is everything I think a show shirt should be. It’s classicaly stylish without being boring, and it’s glamourous without being garish. The combination of subly applied diamantes, silver details, and elegant embroidery makes for a very nice shirt indeed.
The first thing I noticed about this shirt was how beautifully lightweight it is. It feels delicate but not flimsy, and once on, you can barely feel it! It would sit nicely under a jacket on a show day as it is so light and comfortable.
The main white panels are a waffle-like fabric, and the silver panels are quite stretchy. Overall it feels breathable, and the contrasting mix of fabrics is eye-catching for all the right reasons.
As you can see, it tucks into breeches smoothly, which is pretty essential when it comes to riding gear! I rode in this shirt out on a hack last week, and it performed brilliantly. Despite the muggy weather it felt cool and comfortable. It looks great with all the poppers done up under the chin for a smart look, and looks equally flattering with a couple undone.
As previously mentioned, I like the subtle little details which elevate the overall feel of this shirt. The understated tonal embroidery of both the logo on the front and the brand name on the back are nice touches.
Overall, I really can’t find fault with this shirt. It is beautifully and thoughtfully constructed, with plenty of sparkly details, but it never sacrifices form for fashion. From a technical point of view, the light and breathable fabric make this an ideal show shirt.
The White Sleeveless Show Shirt retails for £45, and can be found on the Stay Superior website, here.
Until next time!
