Welcome to another ‘Outside The Box’ post – where we write about anything and everything except our equestrian subscription boxes. This post is about the Dutch company HorseGloss, and a couple of their beautiful accessories that will make excellent stocking fillers this Christmas. I know, I know; the dreaded ‘C’ word seems to pop up earlier and earlier every year. Based in Holland but able to ship worldwide, HorseGloss specialise in very pretty equestrian-themed trinkets. Their shop comprises of clothing, bracelets, phone cases and lots of other accessories. In this post I’m looking at the ‘Born to Ride’ bracelet and the Sky Blue Sparkle phone case, both of which would make fabulous stocking fillers for the ‘horse girl’ in your life!
HorseGloss ‘Born to Ride’ bracelet
These simple bracelets are effortlessly stylish and perfect for minimalist jewellery fans like myself! I don’t like bracelets that are jingly and that dangle all over the place, so this bangle style is much more my scene. Available in three different colour effects (gold, rose gold or silver) and with various different riding-related slogans, you’re sure to find a version to suit anyone’s tastes. Other quotes available include ‘Ride. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.’ and ‘Dressage’ with two hearts either side. They remind me of the Cartier ‘LOVE’ bracelets in both shape and colour, and thankfully without the same price tag!
Made of high-grade stainless steel, this bracelet won’t discolour over time. It opens and closes with a hinge on one side and click opening on the other. I have stupidly tiny wrists, so I was concerned that it would swamp me, but it’s actually a really good size. The circumference is 20cm so it would be suitable for most wrist sizes. To prove this point, I even tried it on my large-wristed boyfriend and it fitted him, too!
All in all, I really like this pretty bandgle. It’s fun and stylish without being fussy, and I think it would make a lovely gift. It comes in a very cute branded drawstring bag too, so it makes a very presentable pressie. These bracelets are €16.49, which roughly equates to £14.60, so they’re an affordable way to add some sparkle this festive season.
‘Sparkle Horse Girl’ phone case in Sky Blue
Considering I’m someone who generally opts for minimalism when it comes to clothing and accessories, when it comes to phone cases I am a fiend for sparkles! I love cases where huge amounts of glitter swirl around every time you move it, so I was instantly drawn to this beautiful blue one. Turquoise glitter, big blue stars and small pink stars are suspended in a clear liquid, and it’s mesmerising to watch everything float around. It’s like a snow globe!
The ‘Horse Girl’ print is a nice detail, and the whole case is just really aesthetically pleasing! The plastic feels strong and sturdy, so hopefully it can withstand being dropped at the yard. HorseGloss have lots of different phone case designs on their website, and these glitter ones currently come in three colours; pink, blue and silver. Pink and blue are sold out at the moment, but I’m told they will be restocked as Christmas approaches, so keep your eyes open for those. The glitter cases are €16.49 which makes them under £15. I think this is a very good price, considering similar glitter cases in the UK are usually closer to £20.
So there you have it: two perfect stocking fillers for the stylish equestrian! To have a look at everything HorseGloss has to offer, click here. The majority of the text on the wesbite is in Dutch, but that can easily be rectified by turning on (or downloading, and then turning on) the Google Translate browser plug-in. If you’re using Chrome, it should automatically give you the option to translate the page anyway. I’m so glad that HorseGloss ship to the UK!
Thank you for reading; hopefully this review has given you some very glitzy inspiration for the festive season!
